The Western Iowa Tech women's soccer team lost 6-0 to the No. 5 Northeast Hawks at home Wednesday afternoon.
Sophomore keeper Zoe Wiggall made 15 saves and the Comets (2-7, 1-1 ICCAC) experienced what it takes to compete at the highest levels of their conference.
"It was nice to be able to play against the best," head coach Eddie Vongsiprasom said. "We didn't put our best effort out but as a coach it was nice to see the competition."
Vongsiprasom said the Comets need to minimize their errors to compete against teams like the Hawks, who currently sit atop the ICCAC standings.
"We are our own worst enemy," he said. "The moment we can get out of our own way we will reap our greatest desires."
The Comets play at Southeastern Community College (West Burlington) at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
