Comets celebrate Academic All-Region honors
41 athletes from all six athletics programs receive ICCAC recognition
Many Western Iowa Tech athletes received another victory Wednesday, long after some of their seasons had wrapped.
Forty-one Comets were recognized as Academic All-Region performers for the Fall 2023 semester by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, the conference announced Wednesday.
The Academic All-Region list consists of a first team and a second team. First-team honors are reserved for those with a 3.5 or greater GPA, while second-team recognition goes to student-athletes with a GPA of 3.0-3.49. All student-athletes must be a full-time student (enrolled in at least 12 credits in the semester) to be eligible for NJCAA competition and Academic All-Region consideration.
The Comets placed 21 student-athletes on the first team, and 20 on the second.
